The English curriculum is set up as four units, approximately one unit per quarter. The overarching themes of each unit are: Dreams, Looking Back, The Road Not Taken, and Leaving a Legacy.
Each unit will encompass many elements of Language Arts: different forms of writing, poetry, grammar, listening, short stories, class novels, and speaking skills.
In addition, students will be responsible for always having a free reading book with them, and will have assignments related to those books (bookmarks). The students will be responsible for turning in 6 bookmarks per quarter. One bookmark is equivilant to 150 pages. Students should spend no less than 20 minutes per day reading.
